Forgetting SIRI…
Already in excruciating pain that numbed his mind, he could now vaguely remember of having spent days together browsing the vast corridors of the internet to find a way.
The way to forget her.
Ever since Siri left, life has been so painful for him.
He could already feel his shaking finger subconsciously inching towards the ‘Y’ key.
Picture of her smiling face flashed across his mind again.
Oh No…why should it be so hard!
agony_aunt2018: “Happy forgetting, Dear User!
The ERASER program starts auto run in seconds 10...9...8…”
His still half open eyes watched the self-counseling chat programs closing down one by one. And the screen was now pitch-black with the text flashing in eerie bright green:
“ERASER sequencing memory fragments and deleting memories in time reversal order….
This may take up to 6 hours. Please do not disconnect the headphone or remove it from head in meantime.”
Half-awakened, he could sense the cold metal touching down his forehead. Was that really the out worldly sense of being tickled by feeble electric charge or did he just imagine so?
He felt falling down an infinite spiral way.
Goodbye Siri…for one last time! He whispered to himself.
Then there was darkness everywhere.
When the darkness subsided, he found Siri standing against an incredibly red evening sky with her back towards him.
Wasn’t it where I met her the last time?
As she turned back to face him, he could see her beautiful eyes on the verge of tears.
She was saying, “Will you be there always for me?”
He was silent.
“Will you not leave me alone ever again?” He could no longer hear her voice, but could feel her inaudible words from her lips. Then her outline strangely seemed to shimmer like a bright pixilated image and fade away. The whole landscape gradually faded away along with her.
It darkened again.
This time, the dark gave way to a different time & space.
Inside a train, he caught himself watching furtively towards the girl sitting on the window side. The girl then looked back absent mindedly at him and smiled with a faint hint of amusement. Then he realized what it was: love at first sight.
But isn’t her Siri? The first time we met. That unforgettable smile....but hey!
The smile started to wither away like leaves in a cold autumn breeze. Wait! I want that smile back again!
But it was too late. The darkness had begun to gather again.
The following morning, he woke up to a mild hangover and nothing strange.
Suddenly, his eyes caught sight of some thing written on his left fore arm which he never remembered of having seen before.
“Siri”: 4 letters etched in blood….in-erasable for a life time.
Siri? Siri who? And how come the name on my fore arm?

It was colder than he remembered. The bluish glow of his laptop filled the room. Odd, he didn’t remember switching it on. Chat boxes popped up. They all said the same thing…
